💡About the NVIDIA RTX 5090

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 is the ultimate enthusiast GPU, built on the Blackwell architecture with 32GB of GDDR7 memory and DLSS 4 multi-frame generation. It delivers a generational leap in 4K and 8K gaming, AI workloads, and content creation. The 575W TDP demands a robust power supply and well-ventilated case.

  • 32GB GDDR7 — future-proofed VRAM

Double the VRAM of the RTX 5080 ensures headroom for 8K textures, AI model training, and multi-monitor setups.

  • DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation

Generates multiple frames per rendered frame, dramatically boosting perceived frame rates in supported games.

  • Blackwell architecture

New shader cores, enhanced RT cores, and Tensor cores deliver the largest generational leap NVIDIA has shipped.

🎯Who is this for?

Content creators, AI researchers, and enthusiast gamers who want the absolute fastest GPU regardless of price or power consumption.

FAQs

Is 575W TDP manageable?

You need at least an 850W PSU (NVIDIA recommends 1000W). A well-ventilated case is essential. The Founders Edition uses a flow-through cooler design that helps, but AIB triple-fan models run quieter under load.

RTX 5090 vs RTX 4090 — how big is the upgrade?

Expect 50-70% faster rasterization and significantly better ray tracing. DLSS 4's multi-frame generation is exclusive to RTX 5000. If you have a 4090, the upgrade is substantial but the 4090 remains excellent for 4K gaming.

Should I wait for the RTX 6090?

The RTX 5090 launched in January 2025 and is now over a year into its cycle. The RTX 60-series (Rubin architecture) is projected for early-to-mid 2027 — roughly 12 months away on current cycle estimates, though no official announcement has been made. However, the ongoing VRAM supply shortage has kept street prices at $2,900–$3,900, well above the $1,999 MSRP. If you can find one at or near MSRP, it remains an excellent purchase; at inflated prices, waiting for supply normalisation is advisable.

Is the RTX 5090 overkill for 1440p gaming?

Yes. At 1440p, even the RTX 5070 delivers excellent performance. The 5090 is designed for 4K, 8K, and professional workloads.

DLSS 4 vs DLSS 3 — what changed?

DLSS 4 introduces multi-frame generation, creating up to 3 additional frames per rendered frame (vs 1 in DLSS 3). It requires Blackwell hardware and is not available on RTX 4000 cards.
